Meet Teresa

Hey there! So glad you're here.

Here’s a bit about me and what I bring to the table. I describe myself as...

  • Open-minded. Considering all sides of an issue helps me design workable solutions.
  • Adventurous. I’m one of barely 5% of people who has gone skydiving (highly recommended :))
  • A little bit ironic, don’t you think? I create intricate specialty drinks, then drink black coffee every time!
  • A lot introspective. Deep thoughts about life and business give me a broad perspective.
  • Chief Harmonizer. I’m a connector that strives to bring out the best in everyone.
  • Versatile... like a chameleon. I easily adapt to a wide variety of people and situations.
  • Serious & focused as needed, otherwise easy-going & flexible.
  • Eternal optimist. We all can choose to make each day matter greatly.

For those who prefer facts and figures, I have a BA in Marketing, an MA in Spanish, nearly 10 years as a Business Manager for a multi-million dollar technology education firm, and over a decade of experience as a business owner. I also have extensive training as an instructor for the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA), and now develop original training material to lead seminars on both coffee and small business topics. Coffee may be my industry, but my passion for entrepreneurship is what has made it all possible.

Now I look forward to meeting you. Let's work together!

The Espresso Elevado Story

My Heartstrong working model is a business I’ve been building over the last decade… an artisan coffee roaster & brew bar in Plymouth, Michigan called Espresso Elevado.  E2, as it’s now called by staff and regulars, was fueled by my passion for coffee and the dream I had to up the game in our area by roasting onsite in small batches, hand-crafting our own recipes, and brewing to order.

Having a quality product is awesome, but early on I realized it wasn’t everything.  A Heartstrong business also needs to be purposeful as well as ultimately sustainable.

Since opening our doors in March of 2011, E2 lives its purpose each day.  Our CAUSE is an easy-to-remember acronym that describes all we strive to be:  Connected, Artistic, Unconventional, Sustainable, and Elevated.  It has proven to be a sustainable small business with huge heart, that has been embraced by our staff and the community.  Take a moment to read our reviews, or better yet, come visit us and experience it for yourself.

My Philosophy

Success is when my inner aspirations and outer expression align, but it could also be measured by how many days a week I can wear yoga pants to work.

One of the main reasons I started a business was because personal freedom & flexibility rate super high for me.  Tranquil mornings with time to meditate, exercise, reflect and eat a good breakfast are truly the foundation of my day.

You do not need to be a slave to your business or give up everything else that you love. I believe every business owner deserves, and can achieve, control over their days by asking the right questions at the outset and putting in the work.

My mission is to help you get there.

Every business owner deserves, and can achieve, control over their days.
My mission is to help you get there.
